A sad day

I just found out that president Hinckley passed away tonight. Even though he was 97, it is a shock. I loved president Hinckley. Thought I never knew him personally, I felt his love for me. He was a prophet of God and he will be greatly missed.

Winter

I think I have a case of the winter blues this week. I don't want to go out of my warm little house. Today when I took Mia to the bus stop the snow was blowing sideways and I could hardly see in front of me. I wanted to take her to school, but she said her friends on the bus would be worried. So with her scarf and hat wrapped tightly I let her out of the car into the blizzard. I was seriously afraid she was going to be blown over (all 35 pounds of her!). I almost called followed the bus to make sure she made it to her classroom once she got to the school. It was crazy!

We did have some fun with the snow on Saturday though. Tawnya (my neighbor) and I were scoping out some ideal portrait locations last week and we decided to take the kids up to sled and play in the snow. So I packed up the kids and all of their gear and went up the canyon. I was by myself with all three kids, however I didn't have to worry about Ella running away, because with the combination of all of her gear and the deep snow, she could not move at all!! She looked so cute! The kids had a blast and I even went on the sled a couple of times. We took our cameras of course, so I will post some pictures.

January and the "appliance"

January has been cold and snowy so far. It is depressing sometimes. I have been trying to catch up after Christmas still. The biggest development so far this month has been Riley getting his "appliance" put in his mouth today. I think he is going to starve. He seemed fine after they put it in but then when I arrived at his class today to volunteer, his teacher told me he was starving to death because he couldn't eat with the appliance in. I hope he adjusts in the next few days. The problem is that food gets stuck in the appliance and it drives him crazy! He wants me to clean it out with the various brushes and gadgets that they gave me today. I got him to eat two shakes today and some chicken noodle soup. He is also making a loud slurping sound almost every minute. The orthodontist said that this would take about a month to go away!

I added a few pics from our day at California adventure!
