Carter Family BBQ 2008!!

My mom and dad came into town during August and so we had a BBQ at my Aunt's house. The food and the company were wonderful! The kids had a great time. I have put some pictures up for all to see!

1 year anniversary

Yesterday my sister told me that it is the one year anniversary of my grandma's passing. It gone by fast and slow at the same time. Every once in a while I still think of calling her to tell her something and then I remember that she is gone. I have missed her a lot, but I know she is happy and busy on the other side. I sometimes wonder how long it will be before I will be able to see her again. These are a couple of pictures from her college days that I really like.

I know it is not a good excuse, but I have been way too busy to post lately. I am pretty sure no one reads my blog anymore anyway. Here is the latest. The kids are out of school! My neighbors and I are having our own little summer camp on Tuesday and Thursday. This week we learned about fossils and went down to the Bean Museum. Riley is going to be a reading tutor this summer. We went to the training last night and I think it will be great for him. Mia will be there too, being tutored. I hope they don't pair them together!!! They have been fighting a lot this summer. Even though the school year is over, I am still working on PTA stuff. We have summer meetings too! I went to PTA convention at BYU for 2 days and it scared the crap out of me! I don't know what I have signed up for. I think Ryan is seriously going to regret letting me do this. My business is in full swing right now! I have been doing about 1 job per week. It has been fun but tiring. I am doing my first wedding in 3 or 4 years tomorrow! My next project is to plan activity day camp for the stake. I am in the process of designing and ordering t-shirts for the event. Riley and Mia and Ella have started their summer programs. This year we are writing in journals, (Riley wrote I don't know, I don't know, I don't know... in his school journal for most of the year!) reading and doing worksheets. So far Riley is doing it because he is motivated by getting points (which he can turn in for money) and Mia is not doing it! I don't know how I am going to get her up for 1st grade next year! She sleeps in until 10 almost every day. Next week, Riley is turning 9! I can't believe it. Luckily this year I am not doing birthday parties! We are going to the zoo with some of his friends (our neighbor is having a birthday too so we are combining). Ryan is also having a birthday soon. We are going to the Scottish festival next week which is always a summer highlight. Ryan and the kids really enjoy it too. I like it too, except when I accidentally eat a meat pie containing haggis! Yuck. So that is just a little view into our life right now. One of my friends talked about having "blog guilt" on her blog. I think I have that too! I will try to post again soon!

My new website!

I haven't had a lot of time lately to post. I do have some news though! My new website is up for my photography business. I am gearing up to start advertising again in the spring.
